As of this writing, the huge Aspen Acres Fire southwest of Pueblo has consumed over 97,000 acres and has affected multiple beekeepers in the area. Pueblo County Beekeepers Association is coordinating volunteers to move hives that are in the path of the fire or evacuation zones. If your hives are in an evacuation zone or if you can volunteer to help, please contact the PCBA at PuebloBees@gmail.com, or text to 719-250-3441.
As of this writing, evacuation zones and potential evacuation zones extend into three counties (Fremont, Custer, and Huerfano). For updates on the fire itself and any new evacuation zones, consult the Watch Duty app (in your app store).
