PCBA Biennial Beginning Beekeeping Class

Hosted every other year, runs a day and a half, over one weekend.

Registration includes: class workbook, handouts, industry speakers, hands-on break-outs, complimentary breakfast, lunch and beverages

Prize drawings are awarded throughout the entire weekend.

Program participants receive Certificate of Completion at the end of school.

Completion of the PCBA BeeCurious certification, precedes the CSBA Master Beekeeper Program.

Master Beekeeper Program

PCBA members can apply for a seat and partial scholarship for the CSBA Master Beekeeping Program. 

Master Level Program awarded based on completion of Apprentiship, Journeyman, additional mentorship, research project and paper, oral and written exam. Please contact CSBA for more details.

PCBA NewBee Mentor Program

If you have less than 2 years of experience, and would like to be paired with an experienced beekeeper–this program is for you!

Likewise, our members are dedicated to sharing their experience and helping NewBees! Member meetings are a great place to ask questions! We also invite you (member or not) to ask questions when you see our booth or members in public–please feel free to ask us questions!

Servicing Southern Colorado, with meetings in Pueblo, PCBA is here for YOU–the honey bee enthusiast, the honey bee advocate, the WannaBeekeeper–you can join our club whether you already have bee hives, or are only interested in supporting the honey bee, are simply curious about Beekeeping, or plan to get hive equipment soon and buy bees! START WITH PCBA!

PCBA membership includes:

  • Monthly meetings–which regularly include featured speakers on interesting beekeeping topics, and meetings provide you with opportunities to ask questions! 
  • PCBA NewBee program that connects new beekeepers with experienced beekeeper mentors. 
  • PCBA’s biannual BeeCurious beginning beekeeping class–that’s really a MUST for anyone who plans to beekeep.
  • PCBA’s biannual Speaker event, with vendors.
  • PCBA hosts frequent beekeeping-related workshops, clinics, field days, etc. 
  • PCBA maintains active relationships with MANY affiliates, businesses, state departments, organizations–that provide additional information, classes, and co-memberships (e.g. Colorado State Beekeepers Association).
