Hives for Heroes® is a national non-profit service organization focusing on sustainability, conservation, and providing a healthy transition from service. Through our national network of beekeepers, we provide connection, purpose, and healthy relationships, through access, resources, and funding for Service Members, Veterans, and First Responders.  Hives for Heroes welcomes Service Members, Veterans, and First Responders who have limited or no beekeeping experience and wish to explore beekeeping, cultivate healthy relationships, and actively participate in the organization. Our goal is to provide our Nation’s Heroes with a local mentor while supporting through regular events, resources, and application based funding opportunities as a “NewBEE”.  Hives for Heroes also invites ANY beekeeper with three or more years of experience to serve as a Hives for Heroes “Mentor”.  We ask that mentors commit to guiding at least one NewBEE for a duration of one year while exemplifying the values and mission of Hives for Heroes.  Mentors agree to set aside one hive specifically for training and educational purposes during the initial year, and when possible, to donate a split or swarm to any NewBEE who successfully completes their first year in the program.  For general questions or more information, please reach out to your Colorado leaders at:  [email protected] or [email protected].  Find out more at  our Website | Facebook | Instagram | LinkedIn | YouTube
